ELA - Teachers College Units
Units of Study for Teaching Reading. High Expectations, Achievable Goals: The reading units of study help teachers provide their students with instruction, opportunities for practice, and concrete doable goals to help them meet and exceed any set of high standards. Proven Tools and Methods: It is an understatement to say these units have been piloted many times. The teaching in these books has been planned, taught, revised, and retaught, through a cycle of improvement involving literally thousands of classrooms in schools dotting the globe.
enVisionmath2.0 Common Core is a comprehensive mathematics curriculum for Grades K-5. It offers the flexibility of print, digital, or blended instruction. enVisionmath2.0 provides the focus, coherence, and rigor of the Common Core State Standards. Project-based learning, visual learning strategies, and extensive customization options empower every teacher and student.
Amplify Science blends hands-on investigations, literacy-rich activities, and interactive digital tools to empower students to think, read, write, and argue like real scientists and engineers. Each unit of Amplify Science engages students in a relevant, real-world problem where they investigate scientific phenomena, engage in collaboration and discussion, and develop models or explanations in order to arrive at solutions.
Passport to Social Studies
The NYCDOE K-8: Passport to Social Studies program is a comprehensive instructional resource that integrates the Common Core Learning Standards (CCLS) and the New York State K-8 Social Studies Framework to support strong social studies teaching and learning. An effective social studies program allows students to make sense of the world in which they live, make connections between major ideas and their own lives, and see themselves as active members of a global community.
Computer Science for All (CS4All) will ensure all NYC public school students learn computer science, with an emphasis on female, black and Latino students. Through our work, students will be better prepared to utilize computer science during their K-12 experience and after graduation. There are eight initiatives (including CS4All) that comprise the Equity and Excellence agenda that will ensure all students receive a world-class education and have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Save The Music VH1 Grant: The grant package includes $22,000 worth of developmentally-appropriate and culturally-relevant instruments and resources, including a digital piano, acoustic guitar, Orff Instruments, world drums, recorders, hand-held percussion, Boomwhackers, a classroom set of ukuleles, method books, and program support for 10 years.
